Translation and transcreation
We translate content into over 40 target languages. In addition to complex technical documentation from all industry and manufacturing sectors, we transcreate marketing and advertising texts. This means creatively adapting the underlying message to suit your target group. We employ technical translators, marketing experts, and generalists who produce accurate, polished translations of your internal texts. Generalist translation is suited to operating instructions for you're a company IT system; e-mails to employees; or internal guidelines. We also assist with communications directed at international suppliers. The work of our translators is continuously and systematically monitored by other experienced translators using Alpha's own, in-house program for linguistic quality assurance.

Proofreading and quality control
Many automotive companies use the triple-approval principle. Our proof-readers check either a random sample or a full translation. This lets you monitor and improve the quality of translations over a specific period. To facilitate this, Alpha has developed a quality assurance process based on the TAUS Dynamic Quality Framework (DQF). Errors are divided into categories and subcategories and into different levels of severity. By means of the TAUS Quality Dashboard, the customer is provided with regular reports that can also be accessed online. For some of our customers, we adhere to an established proof-reading methodology. In other cases, we create a customer-specific evaluation method. We also perform quality evaluations in accordance with SAE J2450, a standard specially developed by the automotive industry.
Design and layout
To ensure that translated texts achieve their full impact, they must also be professionally formatted. Our desktop publishing team perform design and layout work in all Western, East European, Asian and Arabic fonts, adapting the layout and design to fit translated content. This avoids issues when, for example, translated text requires more space than the source. The team consists of trained graphic designers with many years of experience in the use of Adobe products and Quark software. We use the following systems:

Machine translation and post-editing
The use of machine translation is recommended only under certain very specific conditions and in very specific subject areas. Where large volumes of text need to be translated cheaply and quickly into different languages, machine translation can suit, especially if the texts are highly standardised, for example with user manuals. Post-editing is then required to bring the translation up to the required standard. Our post-editors are specially trained to work on machine translation, supplied by clients, third parties, or by Alpha. For our own machine translation, we use a solution based on "Moses", which is trained using customer-specific material, and is continuously improved.
Audio-visual media and multi-media
Advertising slogans work by appealing to the eye as well as the ear. Audio-visual media (AV) such as marketing videos win over more customers than texts and pictures alone. Our AV team localises your audio-visual and multi-media content by dubbing, subtitling, or adapting your graphics and animations to each individual market. We also localise training materials, online courses, seminars and all other content provided through learning and knowledge portals. E-learning is most effective when it takes the learner's culture into account, a fact that we always consider as we work. We produce in our own studio, in a professional environment with the latest technology. Our audio-visual and multi-media localisation services include:
